Repulsion - Horrified (1989)

Somewhat a legendary US band that will appeal to fans of Carcass, Autopsy, and the likes. This is straight down the line cult metal, you'll be force-fed on this record in so many gore-inducing ways, so don't expect any kind of pleasure unless of course you get off on such titles as 'Eaten Alive', 'Festering Boils', 'Pestilent Decay' and 'Maggots In Your Coffin', but hopefully by this time if you're a fan of melodic metal you shoulda already skipped this review, because Repulsion offer you eighteen tracks of eye-gouging, pus-licking, womb-stabbing, heart-wrenching, gut-bursting gore metal. To many the sound may appear quite primitive and almost childish nowadays, but the attraction of these bands back in the day was something akin to finding an obscure horror movie on a dusty shelf in some grotty video store, because fans knew that if it had the splatter and the attitude it would rock, and still to this day Repulsion remain idols in this field. Be sure to check out the Relapse cd who provide two discs and hordes of demo's and live gigs for you to devour.

Cult grind at its best.
