I always saw Slave Raider as a more timid relation of Twisted Sister. Their three album career was fun whilst it lasted. 'What Do You Know...' is the band's second opus, and throws in a few meaty anthems which Chainsaw Caine is eager to yell over in the band's mission to party. All kind of one-dimensional, with a few catchy numbers, particularly 'Is There Rock 'n' Roll In heaven' and a cover of Lizzy's 'Jailbreak'. Slave Raider may have been appreciated a little more if they'd emerged during the early part of the '80s, but after years of Twisted Sister, W.A.S.P., and Lizzy Borden to contend with, this mild side of theatrical metal just didn't have the legs, but fair play to them for doing what they did.Thursday 14 July 2011
