This record has the chainsaw guitar attack of Entombed, with much rawer vocals, the band practising in bludgeoning death metal yet hailing from the Swedish hills. 'Dark...' is one of those albums that sustained cult status, and upon hearing tracks such as 'Death Evocation' you can see why as they charge through a series of pounding, fuzzy riffs maintaining a groove yet keeping the fury at a maximum. The surge of tracks such as 'Malignant Epitaph' will leave death metal fans reaching for the stereo for another listen to this battering ram of death metal.
