Well, predictably another near classic from Love/Hate. So, what more can be said ? Again the band smoke, following up the amazing 'Blackout In The Redroom' as if they were taking a stroll in the park, the punky title cut blows in like fiery tumbleweed, Jizzy is back with a vengeance, his dry rasp out-gunning just about any other vocalist in the same league, and the clattering, twisted groove of 'Spit' is at once funky and venomous, destroying the Guns 'n' Roses sound with one mighty swipe of its sleazy paw. This shoulda been the album that broke the band, they shoulda been top of the charts and all over MTV but instead they faded, becoming a strong cult act, but forever to wade in the waters of uncertainty, and it really hurts y'know that bands like this have been missed by thousands, if not millions of rock fans who've been force fed the Skid Row, G 'n' R, Velvet Revolver, blah blah bollocks, but this is real, and I guess that's why it doesn't rule the world, because when this fucker hits ya, you'll be out for days, because Love/Hate provide a hangover and endless session in one, Jon E. Love's searing, sexy, sleazed-up grooves spiral on the shuffling 'Miss America', then the band chill it out with the swaggering 'Dont Fuck With Me', but it's the middle section of the record that has become legendary amongst fans, slapping, rapping, crapping and clapping through the immense 'Yucca Man', thrashing via 'Tranquiliser' and funkin' it up with 'Time's Up'.
What more do you need to know to convince you that bands like this break the rules and set new ones. These are the bands that make the metal genre breathe, these are the bands that provide the magic but the mystery has become so dense that it could take you a while tracking a few of these down, but if it's the last thing you ever do, make sure you do it. This probably desrerves a higher rating but 'Blackout In The Redroom' was just so fantastic.
8.5/10

Love/Hate is probably the ideal name for this lot.
I bought this - listened to it once - and promtly took it back to Our Price to exchange it for Ride the Lightening. No regrets on that front.
Far to glam for my tastes. Or too American perhaps. Not sure, but definitely not my cuppa tea.
They did have one song I liked, but apparently it wasn't on this album.
More the fool you...this album and 'Blackout In The Redroom' piss all over Guns n Roses, pure rock 'n' roll sleaze..
