Savage - Let It Loose (1983)

This album is worth buying for the riffs alone. Don't know much about them, think they are British, but if you like it real and meaty, i.e. Diamond Head, Grim Reaper, and even the doomier fragments of Witchfinder General, then this is for you. Great metal cover, I wish I'd found this platter when I first got into metal, sure, it still rocks many, many years later, but to have experienced those frenzied guitar licks as a teenager would have been something special. I can only describe this kinda metal as from the heart, it reeks of that special requirement that all classy metal albums ooze. The drums of Brown thunder on each track and the atmospheres are incredibly dense, and you'll be wondering how you missed this one all those years ago. Perfect electric metal for a dark night in. Only the Brit's know how to play this kind of metal.

7.5/10
