Hexenhaus - The Edge Of Eternity (1990)
More bweilderingly brilliant technical Euro thrash - I've seen copies of this album going for around £30 to £40 on Amazon. Crazy! Incredibly underrated, like so so so so many other bands of this ilk, and yet their albums are so hard to find, and certainly non-existent in the corporate market place. Hexenhaus play a Gothic style of techno thrash that rarely drifts above mid tempo but all the while drags you in as if it were some great tentacled metal beast. Without a shadow of a doubt the best track on the album is the brooding 'A Temple For The Soul/Eternal Nightmare' which has a riff reminiscent of Dark Angel's sinister classic 'Psychosexuality' before diving into a candlesmass type medieval sullen drone. 'Prime Evil' picks up the pace of the album as a quality thrasher but these type of albums are so hard to describe, whetehr it's this, Toxik, Watchtower, Obliveon, Coroner, Atheist, technical metal is so superior to anything else on the planet it makes it an even bigger disgrace that this stuff will, within a few years probably, completely fade to nothing. Thankfully with downloads and old headbanger's uploading stuff on You Tube etc, we can once again visit those times.
