Acrophet - Faded Glory (1990)

If you are a thrasher then Acrophet's 'Faded Glory' should be in your collection. Whilst there is nothing that original about their brand of thrash, one can appreciate the talent of these sort of bands even more as we reflect on a scene that at the time seemed swamped by bands. 'Faded Glory' really has some nice touches, from the backwards intro to 'Haunting Once Again'' which leads into a head first chugger, and the hyper 'Forever The Fall' with its cool bass and choppy guitars. The band have a slight crossover feel to their sound, the vocals a series of choppy raps but it's not just all out speed, the catchy intro groove to 'Dead All Day' has a nice funky melody before the band rush into more frantic speed. If one can imagine a speeded up Sacred Reich then you might get the jest. No thrills, but somehow cool as hell. 7/10
