Oz - Fire In The Brain (1983)

Obscure Euro metal that has a strong NWOBHM feel. One of those records any teenage metalhead would've loved to have got his hands on. Everything about this record is metal - from the cover to the warrior wails of the frontman, and those crashing cymbals and doom-laden guitars and lyrics such as 'Fire in the brain...driving me insane,' okay, so it's hardly rocket science, but it's still driving metal, even if the opening chords of 'Black Candles' sound like the James Bond theme! There is something dark and stuffy about this record. The mostd emonic riff on offer has to be from 'Stop Believin,' whilst 'Megalomaniac' displays some awesone shredding at the start. Most certainly metal to be played inside a coffin! 6.5/10
