Von Groove - s/t (1992)

Pretty lukewarm hair metal which insists on plaguing the listener with bolshy, lush ballads and lightweight, mid paced rockers, but hey, were aren't complaining but we ARE wondering why such a band didn't emerge on the scene until it waas too late. Many will find this sultry rock too feeble despite the occasional solid riff - 'House Of Dreams' - but for me it IS the soft ballads which make this a pleasant listen, 'Love Keeps Bringing Me Home' and the dreamy 'Once In A Lifetime' with its Beatles/Saigon Kick style strings and melody. These guys somehow made it through the mid '90s too, which is a miracle, as I didn't think there would be any money to made out of this sort of pomp rock, but fair play to them for hangin' in there. 6/10
